Bugaboo is a well-known stroller company that has been creating high-quality and innovative strollers since 1999. In 2019, Bugaboo partnered with Nuna to create the Bugaboo Turtle Car Seat.
Design-wise, it's most similar to the original Nuna Pipa, rather than the Pipa Lite. After listening to consumer feedback, they have made improvements on their original design. The Turtle One by Nuna is the latest collaboration from Bugaboo and Nuna and is hitting our shelves November 2nd, 2020!
What's New?
The Bugaboo Turtle One is slightly more refined than its predecessor. Since the original Turtle car seat was only compatible with Bugaboo's Fox Stroller, they've created more adapters for the Turtle One to have wider stroller compatibility.
The Turtle One infant car seat is compatible with the Bugaboo Fox2, Bugaboo Lynx, Bugaboo Donkey3, and Bugaboo Bee5 strollers as well as many other strollers that use Maxi Cosi infant car seat adapters. This makes it possible for you to create a travel system that's perfectly suited for your family.
Safety & Convenience
As far as the car seat base and installation go, the Turtle One is similar to the original Nuna Pipa in that its base features rigid latch for easy installation, and a load leg, which rests on the floor of your vehicle to provide addition stability and reduce crash forces.
A European belt path can be found on the carrier, just like on the Pipas. It allows you to install the car seat without the use of the base, making it perfect for public transportation. The Bugaboo Turtle One is also FAA approved for aircraft travel.

It's also worth mentioning that the fabric on the Turtle One is easily removable and washable, which is a win for parents everywhere! It's also designed to be super comfy for your little one. The natural merino wool baby insert offers climate control to keep baby comfortable no matter the weather and is also Oeko-Tex certified, meaning it is completely free from harmful chemicals.
Nuna also upgraded their extendable canopy, known as the Snooze Shade. You might be familiar with the Dream Drape on previous models of the Pipa. Similar to the Dream Drape, the Snooze Shade fastens with magnets to the side of the car seat to provide your babe with maximum sun coverage and UPF 50+ protection.
The Turtle One weighs only 8.8 pounds, making it a lighter weight than many other infant car seats on the market. It can be used for your baby from 4 pounds to 32 pounds or until they are tall enough to transition into a convertible car seat.
