Stained Glass Craft for Kids

Stained Glass Craft for Kids

If you're a busy mama who is looking for something fun and easy to do with her littles, then you'll love this stained glass window craft idea! We're talking minimal materials, minimal mess, and maximum creativity pay off for your little ones...AKA: Mama Win!

This craft is a breeze to put together, and because you only need a few things you can pull it out whenever your kids are trying to get creative, but are bored with the same old crayons and markers. Here's a quick how-to video for making these adorable crafts.

What You'll Need:

  1. Quilting rings (Different sizes)
  2. Tissue paper
  3. Clear wrapping paper
  4. Glue stick
  5. Scissors
  6. Fishing wire

Probably one of the greatest things about this project is that you can reuse the quilting hoop and do this craft for any occasion. You can use orange and black for Halloween, and replace it with green and red when Christmas rolls around!

You can also use this craft as a teaching tool if you're working with your little ones on their colors or shapes. Work on cutting out triangles of different sizes, or using different colors to make patterns. The sky's the limit!

DIY Stain Glass

Step-By-Step Directions:

  1. Cut clear wrapping paper to the size of quilting ring
  2. Put clear wrapping paper in between quilting rings
  3. Trim or rip access wrapping paper around quilting ring
  4. Cut out shapes you want with tissue paper
  5. Glue tissue paper to wrapping paper
  6. Let dry
  7. Hang with fishing wire

Your little ones will be able to do pretty much every step of this on their own, but if you have tiny ones you don't trust with scissors yet, you can always cut out the clear paper to size before starting. Let them get their hands on as much of the craft as possible. It will really help them stay focused and take pride in the finished product!

Let your kids work on their creativity by having a few simple things on hand, and letting them go to work on some of these adorable stained glass frames. They're easy enough that you won't dread letting them get started, and cute enough that you'll want to keep them up all year round!
