Tub-A-War: Puj Tub vs. Boon Soak Bath

Tub-A-War: Puj Tub vs. Boon Soak Bath

You may have recently read my article all about bathtub safety for infants. If not, take a look. For now, I’m going to solely focus on the comparison of two very popular and competent infant bathtub options: the Puj Tub and the Boon Soak Bath.

Differences:

The four biggest differences between these two brilliantly designed tubs are:

ONE – Age Limit

The Puj Tub typically isn’t used incredibly long since it is a sink-only bath. But the Boon Soak Bath has the capacity to bathe a baby from day 1 all the way to month 18! That’s a good lifespan. The reasoning for this large range is due to a 3-stage feature that grows with the baby – newborn, infant, then toddler.

TWO – Location

As I’ve mentioned already, the Puj Tub is designed to go in a sink, whether that be a kitchen sing, a pedestal sink, or a standard bathroom counter sink. To be precise, the best size of sink for this tub is 5”x12” and at least 6.5” deep. The Boon Soak Bath does fit in most double sinks, so you do have the sink option, but also many more. It can go on the ground, in a bathtub, or in the shower as well!

THREE – Size

The Puj Tub is incredibly innovative. Not only can it be put together in a quick two snaps of a strategically and durably placed magnet, but it also comes undone to lay flat. This makes it simple to store, convenient to travel with, and safe to use over and over again because not only is it mold and mildew resistant, but as it hangs to dry, there’s no chance of water remaining in little crevasses of this medical grade material. The Soak Bath certainly takes up more space, as there is no option for it to collapse, but it can be hung up to dry or tucked in a cupboard or drawer pretty easily, regardless. Its dimensions are: 25.4” x 15.7” x 8.8”.

FOUR – Special Features.

The special feature of the Puj Tub was just mentioned, but I’d like to elaborate. This material is SO good. As well as the few reasons to love it I already listed, it is also water resistant. Super durable and safe for babes. It also has a strong, safe, and easy to use magnet that holds the two flaps sturdily in place. Pretty darn cool.

The special feature in the Boon Soak Bath is the color-changing, temperature-gauging drain in the bottom to indicate a suitable water temperature for little babies.

Similarities:

Both of these tubs are designed as infant tubs for the purpose of safely and more conveniently washing newborns. Both feature no-slip materials – a contoured back wall with non-slip foam in the Soak Bath and warm-to-the-touch, non-slip foam that makes up the Puj Tub.

Both bathing configurations are winners. Like, best in their class, if you ask me. When it comes to choosing a favorite, I think I’d have to go with the Boon Soak Bath. I like the idea of the three stages, and I’d be comfortable purchasing it knowing that the size of my sink isn’t a factor. I will say though, the materials and ingenuity of the Puj Tub are top notch--to the point that I’m jealous that I don’t have one. But in declaring a winner, I still choose the Boon Soak Bath.
